Outstanding Partnership Award

During the planning process for the 2023 fiscal year, Foster’s alumni engagement team offered to orchestrate the school’s 23rd Annual Celebration of African American Alumni Achievement, a role previously taken by the Office of Inclusion and Diversity. They formed a committee of internal stakeholders and partners to guarantee trust. They listened to previous attendees. They embraced uncertainty to create an impactful and energetic celebration that upended tradition and set a new tone for the future. They brought in couches and cocktail rounds instead of tables of ten, they produced videos to cut down on podium time, and hired a deejay. The result was overwhelmingly positive.
